Hey, baby, want some slaw?for dinner?

Not that appetizing.

But this slaw is different, nothing at all like it?s grandfather, the coleslaw, so don?t let the name deter you from trying it. You know the ?grandfather coleslaw? I?m talking about. The nasty one found in buckets at the grocery store, or the one so often served next to fish and chips. The one that is literally dripping wet with a nasty mix of mayonnaise and unpronounceable ingredients and the cabbage has gone all limp and soft in this unnatural state.

This slaw is sweet and tangy, crunchy and tender, the perfect texture to be wrapped up in a corn tortilla or on its own. Leave out the tortilla and serve it on a bed of greens with sliced avocado instead. Mmmm. To bad there?s none left?.

Every once and a while, I make something that so thoroughly hits the spot that I?m thrilled for days. This was one of those. The best part is that this beet slaw, as good as it is mixed with all the other components of the meal, is just as delightful on it?s own. I find myself with a fork in hand reaching into the beet slaw bowl to have a couple of bites, like drinking from the milk carton.

It?s funny how this simple act feels kind of naughty. Yet there?s nothing naughty about raw beets and pear with the lightest dressing as a quick little snack. This is a ?naughty? I can feel good about. If all the things in our fridges could inspire such a feeling, wouldn?t the world be a different place?

The added bonus of this dish is that it?s not often I can put something together that fits many different eating requirements and as you can imagine, I get really excited when I do!

I plan to keep this ditty in my back pocket since it would make an easy meal for raw foodies and vegans alike. Omit the dill cr?me fraiche and you have a perfect vegan meal (with vegan friendly corn tortillas that is) or a raw meal with fresh sliced avocado and the beet and pear slaw. (Meat eaters aren?t left out, since it?s fantastic with shredded chicken.)

Since I have converted my husband from a beet ?hater? to a beet ?lover,? grated and shredded beets find its way into our meals quite often. Most often it?s added to a green salad for a little crush and sweetness. This was a nice change of pace and a great way of making beets the main attraction.

Beet and pear slaw on tortillas with dill cr?me fraiche?

4 cups of grated beets
1 firm pear, cored and diced
1 green onion, finely sliced
2-3 tortillas per person
Avocado
Beet and Pear Slaw
Dill Cr?me Fraiche

In a large bowl, add the grated beets, diced pear and sliced onion. Add the vinaigrette. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Apple Cider Vinaigrette

?2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 teaspoons raw honey

Combine the above ingredients until honey is well blended through out. Add the dressing to the salad and toss to coat well.

Dill Cr?me Fraiche

?1/3 cup of Cr?me Fraiche (sub in sour cream or Greek style yogurt if you like)
2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped

Combine the ingredients until well combined.

To assemble:?

In a hot pan, heat the tortillas. Put a few slices of avocado at the base, top with 2 heaping spoonful?s of Beet and Pear Slaw. Add a dollop of cr?me fraiche and serve immediately.?

Recipe Notes:

To make the Corn Tortillas, use the recipe from Gnowfglins e-course. Wardeh turned me on to Bob?s Red Mill Masa Harina that is already soaked in limewater to make it consistent with traditional cooking methods. It?s also made from GMO free corn flour, which is not easy to find. Now if I could only find corn meal already soaked in lime I would be a happy camper.

Addition to consider: Add fresh mint or cilantro, ginger, apple or a little cabbage to the slaw to change it up. Or incorporate the Dill Cr?me Fresh right into the slaw for a different take on the same dish.

Use a firm or almost under ripe pear so that it doesn?t get mushy when the ingredients are mixed together.

Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt can be substituted for the cr?me fraiche but nothing beats the real thing. Where I live, cr?me fraiche is one of the few things I can buy that doesn?t have a bunch of added ingredients, even when I buy organic.

New deadly quake hits north Italy

Emergency services survey the damage following Tuesday's earthquake

A new earthquake has struck the Emilia region in northern Italy, killing at least 10 people and burying several others under rubble, local media say.

All the deaths were in the Modena area.

Three were killed when an industrial shed collapsed in Medolla. Three also died in San Felice, two in Mirandola and one in Cavezzo.

Tuesday's tremor, estimated at magnitude 5.8, hit the same region where a quake 10 days ago killed seven people and destroyed many buildings.

Milan and Bologna were shaken too.

Some people fled from buildings when they felt the tremor, which struck at 09:03 local time (07:03 GMT).

There have been several aftershocks since, including a large one at about midday which sent people back out into the streets, says the BBC's Mark Dizzani in Modena.

Italian media report that some buildings damaged by the larger 20 May quake have now collapsed in Mirandola, Finale Emilia, San Felice and Cavezzo. That quake measured 6.0.

Many historic buildings now lie in ruins in Cavezzo, where the roof of a church damaged by the earlier quake collapsed on Tuesday, Il Messaggero news website reports.

Calls to emergency services have overloaded the telephone network in some areas, causing a system blackout. Train services have been halted in some parts of northern Italy.

'A feeling of waves'

Office workers were evacuated in Bologna and there are reports of evacuations elsewhere too.

The quake struck 40km north of Bologna and 60km east of Parma, at a depth of 9.6km (six miles), Reuters reports. It was felt as far away as Venice, the Austrian border and Piedmont.

Chris Brewerton, living in Mantua, told the BBC that Tuesday's quake appeared stronger than the one on 20 May. Mantua is 58km (36 miles) north of Modena.

He described how "the chair starts shaking and there's a feeling of waves below me. I rush out into the garden; the shutters and garage door are banging, the ground below me swaying. It lasted about 15 seconds - it was frightening."

A Londoner living in Modena, Christopher Gilbert, said he felt "a rolling earthquake lasting around 15 seconds - people were quite frightened.

"I was having a coffee when the quake struck and felt a swaying motion so I clutched onto a bar in the cafe to steady myself. Schools and offices were evacuated," he told the BBC.

The 20 May quake destroyed many centuries-old buildings of cultural value. It was the worst to hit Italy since the L'Aquila tremor that killed nearly 300 people in 2009.

About 7,000 people who fled that quake are still living in dozens of tented camps erected in public spaces, AFP news agency reports. There have been many tremors in the region since that quake.

the entertaining house: Happy Memorial Day

This is my grandfather, Larry and my Grandmother, Bettina, aka La Jolie Grandmere.

This picture was taken in the mid 1960s just after they married and built their home in the South of France.

Larry always looked at my grandmother as if she was the only one in the entire world...

They shared a love, respect and admiration most only dream...

He served our country. He piloted jet planes in the Second World War.?

He lived long enough to have an amazing career as a novelist and Hollywood producer for MGM Studios.

He lived long enough to meet and marry my grandmother later in life.

He was an amazing, adoring and doting husband, step-father and grandfather...

Among a myriad of accomplishments he was an avid tennis player. He played well until his 90s. He was 10 years older than my grandmother. She passed away nearly 10 years ago from a form of Leukemia.?

He passed away a few months later... from, I am quite certain, a broken heart.
But his life was long and rich and full...?

We must take a moment to thank all of those who have served our country and who are serving our country and to celebrate those who are no longer with us...

And especially those who never got to follow their dreams...

Who never met true loves... Who passed away much too young...

While we remember them, let's celebrate life and soak it all up!

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day filled with family, fun and?barbecues.

Exactly what is the Way forward for Satellite TV In terms of A In terms ...

Hd televisions

The following article includes pertinent information that may cause you to reconsider what you thought you understood about the relationship between satellite television and Internet television. However, the most important thing is to read with an open mind and be willing to revise your understanding if necessary.

What Is Satellite Television?

Satellite television refers to television service beamed to subscribers via orbiting communications satellites high above earth from a distance of between ? 22, 000 to 37, 000 miles making it possible for television programs to reach wider areas than was possible with either the traditional terrestrial or cable television which out reach was hampered by earth?s curvature and distance.

When Was The First Satellite Television Aired?

It was in 1962 that the very first television signal was up linked from Europe on to the Telstra satellite and beamed over North America. Anik1 has been the first domestic United states satellite tv for pc launched within 1973 within North america.

So how exactly does Satellite Television Perform?

Nicely, without planning technological, it?s going to interest you to notice how the television set alerts you get through communications satellites are actually first sent upwards through ground areas via very big (Being unfaithful ? 12 metres) dinners to a revolving about satellite tv for pc that will therefore beams your alerts down to earth and on to your receiver?s parabolic dish?s focal point as well as a LNB or even low noise blocker aspect changes ands send your alerts to your decoder field in which the last transformation is completed for the alerts in order that it becomes your appear and pictures anyone observe.

In addition there are diverse makes of cell it?s unlikely that any parabolic meal stereos for use within autos and also other cell programs. In such cases satellite tv for pc alerts are generally received having a satellite tv for pc aerial along with aimed through a satellite tv for pc decoder field with an oscillator changes this in order to L-band range of wavelengths that the on-board consumer electronics ultimately changes for the standard frequency usable simply by normal television sets.

Exactly what is a TVRO?

Television set Receive Just or even TVRO may be the precursor of satellite tv for pc watching in your own home. The huge meal size, concerning 3 ? 6 toes, forced to run C-Band wavelengths of about a number of G Hertz meant certainly not many people could bought it because of the very excessive price of installing one, and the room pertaining to installation.

An added trouble together with TVRO could be that the huge meal has to be portable to maintain an eye on much more satellite tv for pc, since C-Band satellites bring a smaller amount stations as compared to KU-band satellites. This particular meal movements, nonetheless makes it possible to acquire free of charge stations along with bottles or even unedited C-Band news materials becoming provided for head office simply by field messages or possibly a news team, they are usually certainly not scrambled.

What?s Primary Broadcast Satellite Or DBS Along with Computerized devices A lot better than TVRO?

Once you begin to move beyond fundamental background information, you commence to appreciate that there?s much more for the way forward for satellite TV in terms of a in terms of World wide web television set software as compared to maybe you have first considered.

DBS is actually satellite TV transmit complete Ku-Band satellites that actually work upon greater wavelengths together with more robust alerts as compared to C-Band or even TVRO, rendering it feasible for that you set up smaller dinners pertaining to obtaining their own alerts.

Individuals who stay up high upon apartments or condos prefer your DBS considering that installing the 20 inches meal on the internet for can be done. An additional from the DBS over TVRO could be that the meal is actually stationary needing zero upkeep in addition, the installation is provided for free in most cases.

This can be granted since DBS television set satellites are usually in geosynchronous orbit that is certainly stationary above compared to planet earth, since every satellite tv for pc is actually launched in to room about Seven,1000 miles per hour to settle about Twenty-two,190 a long way above the Earth.

With this particular speed along with top, your satellite tv for pc involves planet earth after each and every A day within juxtaposition together with Planet?s own rotation. How Does One Build An Online Business That Makes Cash?

By Rick Hart

Who couldn't use some additional money nowadays. Regardless of whether it's just a few hundred dollars per month, it sure would come in handy.

I think we could get a second job working at the super market or delivering pizza. But there has to be a smarter way.

One option is to create an online business. If you build a blog or a domain you can promote other folk's products on that internet site. If you can sell something they'll pay you a commission. This is named Affiliate Marketing and it's one of the very best kept secrets in the world. Why I don't know. I've been doing it for over 5 years.

And what a business idea it is. You do not have to stock products. You don't need to handle purchasers. You can even earn cash while you sleep.

Sound too good to be true?

Well it is not. Again I've been doing it for a long time.

But it's not for everyone. You do need to have good PC skills. And you'll have to discover how the internet works. Particularly you'll need to learn how Google works. Unless you can get traffic to your website then nothing occurs and you will not make any money.

This will take finding someone to train you how it works.

Luckily there's a few good systems out there which will teach you and even hold your hand through the whole process of building your second income.

But this is not Get Rich Quick. It isn't even Get Rich Slow... Unless you try hard and learn your craft. Folks do become rich selling online nonetheless it does take determination and patience. You'll have to learn a lot and spend a little time doing things that are pointless and mundane. Things like...

- Creating articles

- Getting links from other websites
- Researching products to sell
- Researching your keywords

?

But there are systems out there which will guide you each step of the way. You simply have to have the persistence to carry on doing it. Some have been around for years and have a superb past record.

?

One is a thing by the name of Site Build It. This system teaches a thing by the name of C-T-P-M.

?

Content leads to Traffic and the Preselling that traffic permits you to Monetize.

?

Monetizing is making money based on the Problems your traffic has. If you can build a site around Problems that folks wish to solve then you can earn money by offering solutions.

?

If a golfer has a driving problem you can offer them places to find new drivers or educational videos that may aid them.

?

If your visitors have a weight problem you can share diet systems that will help them to lose weight.

?

If someone need to learn how to play guitar you can send them to websites that teach them how to play via videos.

?

These are all real opportunities to untangle an issue and make money promoting an answer to that problem. All the examples above are real.

?

It does help to know a bit about the subject of your website.

?

It can help to know a little about golf or have a strong desire to learn.

?

It helps to have a weight problem or perhaps have resolved that problem yourself.

?

If you have a past-time or an experience, these are all neat ideas you can build a web businesss around. This is achievable and something that you can make money at.

?

And it sure beats delivering pizza.

Facebook market makers' losses at least $100 million

(Reuters) - Claims by four of Wall Street's main market makers against Nasdaq over Facebook's botched IPO are likely to exceed $100 million, as they and other traders continue to deal with thousands of problems with customer orders.

A technical glitch delayed the social networking company's market debut by 30 minutes on Friday and many client orders were delayed, giving some investors and traders significant losses as the stock price dropped. The exchange operator is facing lawsuits from investors and threats of legal action from brokers.

Four of the top market makers in the Facebook IPO -- Knight Capital , Citadel Securities, UBS AG and Citi's Automated Trading Desk -- collectively have probably lost more than $100 million from problems arising from the deal, said a senior executive at one of the firms.

Knight and Citadel are each claiming losses of $30 million to $35 million, potentially overwhelming a $13 million fund the exchange set up to deal with potential claims.

Nasdaq also has to contend with the outside prospect that it could lose the Facebook listing entirely after having just obtained it.

Facebook shares ended regular trading on Thursday up 3.2 percent at $33.03, about $5 short of their offering price. Action on the stock, however, has essentially become secondary to the fallout from the IPO -- its price, its size, its execution and questions about selective disclosure of its financial prospects.

Regulators including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin are now looking into how the IPO was handled. The U.S. Senate Banking Committee is also reviewing the matter.

BROKERS UP IN ARMS

Advisers familiar with the situation said many investors are now finding out, nearly a week after the fact, that their orders were not executed at the prices they thought.

Fidelity, in a statement, said it was working with regulators and market makers on its clients' issues "and we will continue to do so until we are confident that Nasdaq has done everything it can to mitigate the impact to our customers."

Morgan Stanley is also still tending to trade orders placed by brokerage customers on Friday, two people familiar with the situation said. Nasdaq has said all orders were returned by 1:50 p.m. EDT last Friday, but a Morgan Stanley Smith Barney source said it did not get trade information in a "systemic, orderly way.

Late Thursday, the company held a call with its brokers and told them adjustments would be made to thousands of trades so that no limit orders would be filled at more than $43 a share for stock from the IPO day, a person familiar with the call said.

While brokerages may have received confirmation of trades made on Friday, many were still handling customer disputes over what price they received on the trades, officials said.

The question is "who is going to eat the cost" of compensating those investors, said Alan Haft, a financial adviser with California-based Kings Point Capital LLC, which has $200 million in assets.

One prominent plaintiffs lawyer said what happened with Facebook was reminiscent of the dot-com bubble.

"This is just another spin on the same game of unfair treatment of individual investors," said Stanley Bernstein of Bernstein Liebhard. He chaired the plaintiffs' committee in an IPO class-action suit challenging the role of investment banks in more than 300 IPOs between 1998 and 2000. The litigation ended in a $586 million settlement in favor of the plaintiffs.

MARKET MAKERS LOOM

The claims by market makers Knight and Citadel could end up dwarfing some of the brokerage issues, though.

"They are certainly facing the specter of some significant lawsuits if this pool is not enough," a source familiar with Knight's situation said of the Nasdaq claims pool.

Citadel has sent its losses to Nasdaq for potential compensation, a source familiar with the matter said. Citadel's hedge fund was not affected.

The head of trading at Instinet said it still had no idea when Nasdaq would respond to requests for accommodation -- essentially, compensation for the order problems -- or if those requests would be honored.

"Were gonna be looking at a loss on our books" if Nasdaq does not honor the requests, Mark Turner said. "We basically made most of our clients whole because Nasdaq told us to go through the process and file for accommodation. If Nasdaq does not accommodate us we're going to end up taking a loss."

"I don't know that I want to put a dollar amount on that but it's not nearly as significant as Knight's ($30-$35 million)," he said.

Citadel and Knight, as market makers to the Nasdaq, honor their clients' buy, sell and cancellation orders. The orders are supposed to be processed by the exchange within milliseconds, but there was a nearly two-hour delay in processing Facebook orders at the Nasdaq.

During that time, market makers had no idea where their orders stood. And in reality, the price clients bought or sold at was sometimes different than the price they actually got.

For example, Facebook shares began trading with an opening cross price - the first price at which those not in on the IPO could buy or sell - of $42 per share. If an order to sell 10,000 shares at $42 went in at that time, but wasn't filled until later in the day when shares were trading at around $39, a market maker like Citadel or Knight would make up the difference - in this case, at a cost of $30,000.

FEWER PROBLEMS ELSEWHERE

Several analysts who cover exchanges said Nasdaq's legal liability should be limited, though. According to the analysts, securities rules give Nasdaq wide discretion in determining what, if any, compensation it should pay to customers who claim that they suffered losses due to trading execution.

Under exchange rules, Nasdaq's liability regarding client losses from certain trading issues is limited to $3 million a month. Market makers will be arguing that Nasdaq was so grossly negligent that its actions during the IPO opening override the limits, said a source with knowledge of Knight's situation.

Other firms said they did not have similar problems to those of Knight, raising questions about the scope of the losses.

"The problems were where people were trying to cancel orders; we didn't have that," said Peter Boockvar, equity strategist at Miller Tabak & Co in New York. "Because we didn't have a problem doesn't mean there weren't problems."

E*Trade Financial Corp said its market making operations realized losses of "well under a million dollars."

Charles Schwab Corp had a "small number" of the "tens of thousands of clients" who traded Facebook whose issues still have not been resolved, a spokesman said. "Each one requires some analysis to resolve, which can be time consuming."

Shares of Nasdaq fell 1 cent to $21.80 on Thursday. As of Thursday's close the stock was down 5.2 percent from its last close before the Facebook debacle. Over the same period NYSE Euronext is down just 0.1 percent.

The slide in the shares is adding to the pressure on Nasdaq Chief Executive Robert Greifeld, who defended the exchange's performance at its annual meeting last Tuesday.

Foodhealer ? Recipe- Pasta with shallots, yellow squash, peas, goat ...

I know there are tons of pasta recipes on the site, but they?re quick, cheap and easy, perfect after a long day.

You?ll need:

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 shallots, minced
  • 3 medium sized yellow squash, chopped
  • About 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped cilantro
  • About 2 tablespoons of good, young goat cheese
  • Celtic sea salt for taste
  • Pasta noodles of your choice, I used rotini. About 4 servings

Now do this:

  1. Put a drizzle of olive oil in the pan and heat on medium/low.
  2. Get your pasta water started, add a nice pinch of salt to the water.
  3. Add shallots to the oil and cook for about 3 minutes on medium/low, so you?ve got a nice light sizzle going on.
  4. Add the squash and cook until translucent.
  5. Add the peas, cook for about 2 minutes and set aside until the water is boiling and the pasta is cooking.
  6. While the pasta?s cooking, add the cheese and cilantro to the skillet and mix really well, the heat of the food will melt the cheese.
  7. When the pasta?s done, drain well and then add it to the skillet. Stir and get everything really well combined,?let sit for a minute or two before serving,
  8. Serve.

This recipe also works really well with the addition of one cooked Chorizo sausage chopped up really finely, it adds heat and a little punch.

I hope you enjoy this, we really did.

Daily Gnome : Life | Family | Home: Outsourcing the Party Planning

This was the year I hung up my Party Planner hat and passed the batan.?After the Backwards Party?of 2011, Mary Poppins in 2010, and the Race Car Extravaganza?when he turned three, I was ready to forego the home venue and outsource my kids' birthdays. Plus, I don't know how I could have topped last year. Custom name tags for each guest? Just the thought exhausts me today.

Ever since Carson attended a classmate's party last fall, he'd been determined to ring in his sixth year at PlayDate PDX in Northwest Portland. I booked a 9am Saturday slot and we practically had the entire place to ourselves. With fresh brewed Stumptown, a tray of Gabriel's Bakery bagels, and a Party Host handling every detail, there was nothing to do but relax on the comfy couches and chat up the parents while our kids had a blast in the huge indoor playground.

Carson dancing a jig:

Game on! Red vs blue in the ball blaster arena.

Chocolate cake at 10am? Only if followed by a lollipop chaser. Goodie bags! {I had to put my mark on something :}

Happy birthday C-man!

The 'talent war' in APAC ? fact or fiction? PART I @ RPO and Talent ...

Posted by Jon Hull, Head of Resouring, ElectroComponents
APAC talent management
Posted on May 25th, 2012 at 9:14 am

In 1997 McKinsey published the report ?War For Talent?. This paper suggested that businesses across the western world were suffering a shortage of talent/leadership across varying levels and this was potentially hampering growth and development.? The focus of this so called ?war? has shifted to Asia, because of western multinationals? focus on the East. And as the West faces the biggest economic downturn in generations, the stakes are seemingly higher. However, have we really learnt anything from the original ?war?? Indeed was there really a ?war? going on? Are we better equipped to deal with challenges in demographic shifts and a culturally diverse region?

The original report has spawned an industry of self-styled talent management consultants who claimed to have the magic bullet. The question has to be asked; are we really any closer to solving the problem? Have lessons really been learnt or did we just make the wrong assumptions all those years ago? Current research by the CEB has suggested that the biggest challenge for western multinationals in APAC is the ability to find and/or grow suitable leaders. It seems HR cannot perform one of the key tasks it is asked to deliver. How do we attract, develop and retain suitable talent that will deliver results for the business and build a sustainable business platform?

The original McKinsey report was very light on defining what talent is. This has led to a misinterpretation of the central argument and has meant that in the past companies were caught up in a zero sum game of ?Who Pays Wins?. This is no more obvious than in the Investment Banking Sector during the mid-2000s. This approach did not lead to a sustainable, long-term future for many organisations. In fact, it might be argued that this led to their downfall. And now this seems to be the prevailing narrative about the APAC region. Speak to any executive (especially western) and the belief is the only way to solve the talent issue is to pay more because ?this is the culture?. Perhaps this argument is a little myopic because this does not take into consideration the diversity of the region. The drivers and social forces from Japan to China to Singapore and Australia are multifarious. It is lazy to paint Asia as one homogenous region, but convenient for western executives.

There is perhaps an indication that this is starting to shift. ?According to recent research (CEB ? 2011 Drivers of Engagement) and some of our own Employee Engagement surveys some of the driving forces behind engagement in the region are similar to those in Europe and North America. In the CEB report the biggest driver of retention for employees across the APAC region lies in their ability to see a clear career path and understand what they need to do to progress. This is at odds with a prevailing and very narrow view that the highest bidder wins.

Imagine the paths of two graduates, one in London and one in Shanghai embarking on their new careers. In 2012 both have equivalent educations, live in capitalistic societies that drive self-improvement and achievement. The desire for social status is common. Arguably they have more in common than divides them in terms of the need to be inspired, engaged and motivated by the company they are working for. If both are middle class, basic needs have been met and we are assuming a sophisticated, intelligent individual who has an ability to make complex choices. Suggesting our graduate in China is more likely to move for an extra ?1 per hour because that is his culture is not only patronizing and wrong-headed, but is also perhaps the source of the problem.

If business leaders are going to the Middle East with the offer of more money they are simply feeding the problem. As one organisation uses money as an incentive, their competitors will in turn do the same and we will continue to be in the same situation. If organisations changed their incentives it is more likely employee mindsets will be changed too.

This then leads to the central question about talent and whether we have ever been in a ?war for talent? or we simply don?t know what we are looking for. If McKinsey were ?light? on the definition of talent then companies we?re guilty of not thinking about what this really meant. During this time, in the West, our economies and companies grew at a substantial rate. Arguably, and this is where the leadership question is most relevant, not sustainably and at quite a high cost that we are paying for now. It seems that western business models have not learnt from mistakes of the past.

What kinda tropical fish can u have in a 2 Gallon tank? | PetHot.com

Hi there:)
I?m afraid with a 2 gallon your options are pretty much limited to a betta fish- and I wouldn?t even keep a betta in a 2 gallon, but that?s my own personal preference.
Someone recommended angelfish- please don?t put an angelfish in a 2 gallon tank LOL they need at bare minimum to start, a 20 gallon, and that would need to be upgraded.
But a betta fish- especially from a pet store- would definitely appreciate a 2 gallon home, just make sure you buy one that looks healthy from one of those horrible tiny bowls. -_-
Do the poor animal a favor and give it a nice little home to stretch it?s fins out :) And if you have a filter and pump provided, you?ll see your betta come to life.
I bought a very unwell looking lone fish from a display ?cup? in Wal Mart. Brought him home, put him in a filtered 5 gallon- voila! Came right to life, what a beautiful fish he is. A lot of people say they?re boring fish- wouldn?t you be boring to watch in a cramped up little box? :P
Anyway, happy searching!
Hopefully you?ll find a lovely patterned fish to take home:)
I hope I?ve helped you.
