Heavy rains, blazing heat ... even a tornado, but experts call it normal climate volatility
Russell Russ may be one of the few Connecticut residents who haven't found this summer record-setting hot and sticky, not to mention wet and stormy. That's because Russ works at Great Mountain Forest in Norfolk, where he daily records data collected by a weather station and submits it to the National Weather Service in Albany, N.Y.
There hasn't been a day over 90 degrees yet, Russ said Saturday.
But that's also in a hill town known as the state's ice box. Even Norfolk might be tested this week as another spell of high heat and humidity moved into the area Sunday. It is expected to be in the low 90s today.
