WEST LIBERTY, Ky. - A town in Eastern Kentucky is celebrating a milestone in its recovery from a tornado that leveled many of its buildings in March 2012.
The Main Street staple Red Rooster Antiques has returned, and with it a sense of community.
WKYT's Kari Hall spoke to owners Eddie and Sherri Granger, who said that it felt great to be back, and that the whole town welcomed their return.
The Grangers have owned their business for three years, and said that it's been a long journey, but one that's been made sweeter by all the neighbors who support them.
They rebuilt out of the rubble left by the tornado, and restored or recreated what they could -- including the brick walls, the black wooden floors, and the original tin roof.
Restoring their valuable life's work to mint condition is just one contribution this couple has made to the rebuilding of a town that was so devastated only one year ago.
